Some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) known as Concerned Branch Executives in the Sagnarigu Constituency of the Northern Region have warned the Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Mutala, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini of Tamale North, Hon. Isaac Adongo of Bolga Central and Chief Sofo Azorka, the National First Vice Chairman of NDC to desist from intruding in their constituency parliamentary elections affairs or face their wrath.

According to the group, the MPs mentioned above allegedly stormed their constituency to campaign for the incumbent Member of Parliament of the area Hon. A.B.A Fuseini ahead of the May 13, 2023 primaries.

They indicated that, the MPs during their alleged engagement with some delegates within the constituency said the party still need the incumbent MP of the area Hon. A.B.A Fuseini to be on top, hence the need to retain him.

The group made these claims in a press statement copied to www.diamondfmonline.com.

“We have witnessed with worry how some Members of Parliament specifically, Hon. Murtala Mohammed of Tamale Central, Hon. Alhassan Suhuyini of Tamale North, Hon. Isaac Adongo of Bolga Central, Chief Sofo Azorka, National First Vice Chairman etc came into our beloved Sagnarigu Constituency to campaign for the incumbent MP. The actions of these MPs is very dangerous and unhealthy to the unity of the party in our beloved Constituency. We the Branch Executives consider those MPs as detractors and enemies of our beloved constituency”.

“All that we need these MP’s to do is to concentrate on getting 100% votes for JDM”, they stated.

Convener of the group, Yussif Umar, who addressed the press on behalf of his colleagues explained that, “we have suffered and toiled for our constituency and we will not sit aloof to watch some of these dishonorable people to destroy what we have suffered to build”.

He thus on behalf of his colleagues warned the MPs to stay away from their constituency or face their wrath. “We are sending a serious word of caution to these Members of Parliament, who have not seen the need to be neutral, to stay away from our constituency”.

“We take a strong exception to their actions and we are totally embarrassed and disappointed of their actions”.

“Hon. Mohammed Mutala and Hon. Suhuyini should learn from Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and stay away from Sagnarigu constituency”, he advised.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) will hold its presidential and parliamentary primaries on Saturday, May 13, 2023, to elect a flagbearer and parliamentary candidates for the 2024 general elections.
