The family of Tamale Dakpamili has responded to the Dagbon Traditional Council letter dated 20th February, 2022 with reference DTC/TD/7/22/02.
The family in a press statement copy to diamondfmonline.com, insisted that “TAMALE belongs to Tamale Dakpema, and “no amount of machinations can change that, WUNZALGU KU TAGI”.
It will be recalled that Diamondfmonline.com on February 23, 2022 reported that, the overlord of Dadgon His Majesty Ndan Yaa-Naa Abukari II, through the Dagbon Traditional Council, has clarified that Tamale Dakpema Bawa Fuseini is not a recognized chief within the traditional system of Dagbon but a Fetish Priest otherwise known as “Tindana”.
According to Ndan Yaa-Naa Abukari II, Naa Yab’ Gulkpe Naa is the Paramount Chief of the Gulkpegu Traditional Area and is in charge of the Greater Tamale Metropolis, and serve as the official representative of His Majesty Ndan Yaa-Naa in Tamale.
However, the family of Tamale Dakpamali in a response said, “We the Tamale Dakpamli family is here to inform and to assure the general public that, as far as we are concern, our title (Dakpamli) is based on pure Dagbon customs and traditions (Tindaani), and for that matter no rule is enforceable on us without the bases of these customs and traditions”.

Our attention has been drawn to an unfortunate letter circulating in the media. The said letter does not reflect the true face of the Dagbon tradition as we know.
It is unfortunate that the Dagbon tradition (Our tradition) is now being displayed wrongly in the market for everyone to see.
We the Tamale Dakpamli family is here to inform and to assure the general public that, as far as we are concern, our title (Dakpamli) is based on pure Dagbon customs and traditions (Tindaani), and for that matter no rule is enforceable on us without the bases of these customs and traditions.
And also what we know is that, there are due processes and channels where traditional and such sensitive communications must be directed through. Hence, people should disregard the letter dated 20th February 2022 with reference DTC/TD/7/22/02.
We want to assure our people that TAMALE belongs to Tamale DAKPEMA and no amount of machinations can change that. WUNZALGU KU TAGI
