Mion DCE thinks having an NPP MP now would accelerate development in the area

The District Chief Executive for Mion in the Northern Region, Abdallah Hashmin has assured chiefs and people of the area that a second term of the NPP government will further accelerate the development of the district.

He stated that ever since the area was detached from the Yendi municipality in 2012, little had been achieved until the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over power in 2016.

The DCE and the outgoing Member of Parliament, Mohammed Abdul Aziz, for some time have been engaged in power struggle over developmental projects in the area.

However speaking to Diamond news in an exclusive interview, the DCE, Abdallah Hashim stated that with an NPP MP elect, this signifies a new era of development of the Mion District.

The Mion Constituency gained prominence in the just ended elections, after a political novice, Abdul Aziz Ayaaba defeated incumbent MP of the NDC Mohammed Abdul Aziz in the parliamentary contest.

The DCE cautioned against complacency saying, the party won on the back of the failures of the incumbent MP, hence same fate awaits the NPP if it tows same path.
