Tuutingli Community cries over lack of water

Some Residents of Tuutingli in the Tamale South Constituency have passionately appealed to the government to, as a matter of urgency; provide them with potable water to safeguard their health.

According to them, they have never tasted or enjoyed potable water even though they are part of the country and take part in every general elections.

The residents noted that their only source of water is a polluted well situated outside the community.

In view of this, they are exposed to communicable and water borne diseases and several appeals made to the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly and even the Member of Parliament for Tamale South Constituency have all yielded no fruits.

“We know the water isn’t good for our bodies, but we have no option than to stick to it since there isn’t any alternative for us, “a resident narrated.

There is a pipeline in this community, yet there is no water even after our politicians made several promises to us to resolve the challenge, but nothing happened,” another resident complained.

Some of the residents also lamented that they thirst for water during the dry season when the dugout dries up, thereby making life unbearable for them, especially the women and children.
