Kumbungu NDC Youth justifies recent attacks on former MP, Ras Mubarak.

Some youth of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), of the Kumbungu Constituency have been justifying their reasons for attacking Ras Mubarak who is the former Member of Parliament for the area.

In a video sighted by www.diamondfmonline.com, a group of young men are seen attempting to manhandle the former Kumbungu MP as elders suspected to be party people were captured calming the situation by preventing the irate youth from getting access to the MP.

Some of the angry youth are heard in the background threatening to beat the former MP whiles others were seen preventing Ras Mubarak from entering the Kumbungu Chief’s palace.

The incident occurred when former President John Dramani Mahama visited the Kumbun-naa’s palace during his recent “Thank You” tour after the 2020 General elections.

Justifying their actions, the youth said the attack on former MP, Ras Mubarak was in reaction to his negative attitude towards the party and the constituency executives of the NDC.

In an interview with Diamond News, Abubakari Abdul Majeed, known as (JUUT) who is a member of the group said the former MP’s actions in the constituency have been geared towards causing disunity within the NDC in the area.

He lashed out at Ras Mubarak for attempting to derail the party’s efforts to reunite its rank and file within the Kumbungu constituency, especially with his insistent comments made on a community RADIO in the area on August 21.

Abubakari Abdul Majeed alleged that Ras Mubarak had spoken against the constituency executives alongside paddling untruth about his successor, Dr Hamza Adam on the use of his resources.

“We will no longer tolerate his divisive mindset or comments and he must be assured that we will crash him when he tries to act as such. We are not sacking him from the constituency, but our stand is – we will not accommodate his attitude anymore. We will track him, anywhere he goes within the constituency,” he stressed.
