Five persons arrested in Tamale for defying Presidential Directive.

The Tamale Metropolitan Security Council has arrested five persons for defiance of the Presidential directive on public gathering.

According to a press statement copied to www.diamondfmonline.com, four people were arrested from Changli, a suburb of Tamale for organizing a funeral ceremony in defiance of the Presidential directive.

The statement said another person (shop owner) at the Lamashegu market was also arrested for flouting the Assembly’s public announcement in respect of fumigation of the markets within the Metropolis, which required shop owners to desist from entering and opening their shops on the designated dates”.

The press statement, signed by the Metropolitan Chief Executive, Hon. Iddrisu Musah added that these people shall be dealt with in accordance with the law“.

The Tamale Metropolitan Assembly also reminded the public to fully comply with the Presidential directive or risk being arrested by the Police.

“Once again, the public is hereby informed to comply with the Presidential Directive on public gathering or risk arrest by the Police”.
