Kumbungu: District Health Director commends Kumbungu MP for improving Health Care in the area

The District Health Director of Kumbungu, Madam Seidu Barikisu, has commended the Member of Parliament MP for Kumbungu Constituency, Dr Hamza Adam for his efforts at improving Health care delivering in his constituency.

According to Ms. Barikisu, the Kumbungu health directorate is grateful to the MP for his attention and commitment towards ensuring quality health care within the district.

The Kumbungu health Director made these praises by the Kumbungu legislature at the event to hand over a fully renovated health center with essential medical equipment and supplies to the management and staffs of Gbulun Health center.

“We thank him for his intervention to renovate this facility to save lives, because we made several attempts to renovate the building but all prove futile, we are happy and we want to assured him that we are ready to provide quality health care to the people of Gbulun and its adjoined communities”, she assures.

The member of parliament for Kumbungu Constituency, Dr Hamza Adam, has on Tuesday 18, January 2022 handed over the fully renovated health center to the management and staffs of Gbulun Health Center.

The renovated Health center, valued at GH¢60,000, formed part of the MP’s efforts to promote improved health care delivery in the area.

Speaking to Diamondfmonline.com, after the handing over, the Hon Dr Hamza said, the Health Center had been in deplorable state for over six years and this had affected Health care delivering in the area, hence his decision to renovate the facility.

“We are here today to handover the renovated health facility saving the people of Gbulun and its surrounding communities, as you are all aware the health center has been in deplorable state for many years and many attempt to renovate the building proved futile

“And so, when I took over as member of parliament for this area, I took it upon myself to do the renovation of the building to augment health care delivering in this area, he said

Dr Hamza indicated that the reopen of Gbulun Health center formed part of his contribution to improving access to quality healthcare within Gblun and its surrounding communities.

He said it was his wish to raise the facility into a higher health centre in future and, therefore, appealed to members of the community, opinion leaders and landowners not to encroach on its land.

The Kumbungu legislature while commending the community members and the staffs of the facility for their cooperation towards the completion of the project, also urged them to own and maintain the facility to ensure access to basic health care services as well as promote good and healthy living in the area.

On the issue of nurse’s accommodation, the MP stated that his outfit is working with other benevolent institutions to address the accommodation challenge among nurses in the area, “the accommodation of the health worker is not in good shape I think in near feature I will seek for support to come and attend to that one, he added

He has however called on people of Gblun and its surrounding communities to take their health issues seriously by observing regular attendants at the health center

The assembly man for Gbulun electoral area, Umar Yahaya, speaking on behalf of community members, expressed joy and gratitude to the MP for bringing hope to the community and its surroundings and urged him to do more.
