Karaga MP and Deputy Energy Minister Designate hook more communities in his constituency unto the national grid

The Member of Parliament for Karaga Constituency, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam has extended electricity to six communities in the Karaga District. The communities are; Tulinga, Sandua, Pukura, Sologu, Tandong and Gbabilga,

Street lights were installed in all the beneficiary communities whilst over a thousand LED bulbs were also distributed to the communities. The chiefs of the beneficiary communities also received 43 Galaxy LED TV sets from the MP.

Addressing the chiefs and people at separate durbars, the Deputy Energy Minister nominee indicated that extending electricity to the communities were in fulfillment of his campaign promise.

According to the Karaga MP, he had facilitated and hooked over 40 communities unto the national grid in less than two years and “this is unprecedented” he stated.

Dr. Amin Adam said the extension of electricity to the communities formed part of government’s steps to ensuring; the country achieves a universal access to electricity at the end of 2024

The connection of the communities to the national grid, the MP added would pave way for many developmental projects to be established alongside hopes of improving academic performance and socio economic activities among the communities.

 I am determined to work with the president and ministry of Energy for the country to achieved a universal access to electricity.” he said.

Speaking to Diamond News after addressing the chiefs and people at Solugu, the Karaga law maker highlighted  the importance of electricity and thanked the president for ensuring Karaga received its share of the national cake. Saying he is committed to partnering with the people to ensure a total development in the constituency.

Once we have electricity in these communities, the sky is not the limit, I will work with the people for us to be able to bring other components of what will become of balanced development for all the communities,” he stated. 

Dr. Amin Adam also advised the youth in particular to take advantage of the opportunity of being connected to the national grid to create jobs for themselves in order to improve on their livelihoods.

The chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities who could not hide their happiness thanked the MP for the gesture and assured him of their continued support.

Meanwhile the MP as part of government’s greening Ghana initiative also planted trees in the beneficiaries’ communities and presented some seedlings to their chiefs for onward planting.
