The National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Henry Nana Boakye has challenged the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to offer policy alternatives and not go by the mantra of reviewing the Policies and Initiatives of the NPP.
“If Mr. Mahama and the NDC disagree with the efficacy, effectiveness and impact of these policies and programs, they should do so by providing ALTERNATIVES and not the flawed argument of reviewing the Policies and Initiatives of the NPP”.
He said the NDC after 8 years in government left a record of monumental failures and in opposition they still lacked vision and policy alternatives going into the 2020 general elections.
Speaking at the third edition of the youth must know series in Tamale Nana Boakye said the 2020 general elections will be a battle of ideas and policies and not about who is much handsome and younger.
“The 2020 general elections is going to be a battle of ideas and policies; it would not be about who is much handsome and younger; it will not be about who can create empty slogans; it will not be about who can insult more and do vile propaganda; and it will certainly not be about politics of trivialities, pettiness and unrefined mockery”.
The outspoken NPP National Youth Organizer also accused the erstwhile NDC government of diverting funds meant for construction of several life transforming projects in the North to their personal gains.
He indicated that, the Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) in its 2017 report, revealed that, 50 percent of projects inspected in the Upper East, Upper West and the then Northern region all funded with petroleum revenue could not be traced.
“The Public Interest and Accountability Committee (PIAC) in its 2017 report, covering how the erstwhile Mahama-led NDC government used our scarce oil money, revealed that, 50 percent of projects inspected in the Upper East, Upper West and the then Northern region all funded with petroleum revenue could not be traced. In simple terms, Mr. Mahama and the NDC took millions of dollars of our oil money in the name of executing projects in the Northern regions but diverted the funds for their personal gains”.
The NPP Youth Organizer also indicated that, thousands of youths in the North lost their jobs due to the 5years of Dumsor-Dumsor under the erstwhile NDC.
