Inmates at Leli Dabari witches camp begs government for support

Inmates at the Leli Dabari witches camp in the Gushegu Municipality of the Northern Region have called on government through the Gushegu Municipal assembly to help fix the only road linking the camp to the Gushegu township.
According to them, the deplorable nature of the road is affecting their movement whenever they wanted to access the Gushegu township for various reasons.
Some of the inmates, lamenting to diamondfmonline.com during a visit to the camp, said the camp is always cut off during raining season, a situation they said was making life unbearable for them most especially during the raining season.
“The muddy nature of the road, during raining season makes it difficult for us to move to Gushegu township to purchase our needs, and this sometimes affect us badly most especially when you need some items to prepare your meal”.
“We are appealing to government to fix the road for us, because this is the only root linking the camp to the township”, another inmate also stressed.
Caretaker of the camp, Banabas Dalabra on his part said aside the bad road network, the camp is also facing electrification challenges despite its closeness to the Gushegu township most especially the Gushegu police station.
He said, the lack of electricity at the camp had led to rampant snakes and scorpion bits at night among the inmates.
“The camp is just hundred meters away from the Gushegu Police station but no lights”, he lamented.
He has therefore appealed to the Gushegu Municipal Assembly and the central government to come to their aid by connecting the camp to the national grid to help alleviate their plight.
The Leli Dabari witches camp was established in the early 90s and is currently accommodating over 150 inmates.
