Ghana Hajj Board ends four (4) days orientation for pilgrims, ahead of Hajj 2023.

The Ghana Hajj Board has over the weekend ended a four days orientation exercise among prospective pilgrims ahead of this year’s Hajj process in the Northern Region.

Diamondfmonline.com has learnt that this is the first of its kind the Board is organizing such exercise to prepare the prospective pilgrims psychologically for the all the important journey of Hajj which is one of the Pillars of Islam ahead of the inaugural flight on June 9, 2023.

The orientation exercise is part of the innovation approach by the Ghana Hajj Board Secretariat in making the operations of Hajj from Ghana smooth of emulation. The four days orientation exercise started on May 25, 2023, aimed at ensuring incident free during the Hajj period.  

Pilgrims were taken through some health education, items to be carried to the holy land among others. The Da’wah committee members also educate the pilgrims on some basic principles of the Hajj process.

The pilgrims also go through some medical screening. This is to ensure Ghana pilgrims perform the Hajj without health implications.

Speaking exclusively to diamondfmonline.com, the Deputy Public Relation Officer of the Hajj Board, Alhaji Haruna Eliasu, described the exercise as unprecedented in the history of the Ghana Hajj Board, saying the board intended to educate all prospective pilgrims across the country to ensure a successful Hajj process.

He said the the team has since moved to Walewale of the North East Region to engage other pilgrims.

This year, the inaugural flight is scheduled to take place at the Tamale International Airport on June 9, 2023.
