The Mayor of Tamale Sule Salifu, has reiterated his commitment towards working with all members of the Assembly to ensure the rapid development of the metropolitan area.
The Mayor, in his “thanking you” message after the Assembly members gave him the node on Thursday, 30th September, 2021 said, “I assure members of the Assembly that they will remain valued allies in my tenure as chief executive and in our collective quests to ensure peace and development of the metropolis.

Statement by the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive-Elect, Hon. Sule Salifu
I wish to thank the chiefs and traditional leaders, religious leaders, the security agencies, the media, workers of the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly, all political party executives and the general public for their show of support during my confirmation as the new Metropolitan Chief Executive for the Tamale Metropolitan Assembly (TAMA).
I particularly extent my appreciation to members of the TAMA for their endorsement of my nomination.
I wish to reaffirm my commitment to work with members of the TAMA to ensure the continuous development of the metropolis. I assure members of the Assembly that they will remain valued allies in my tenure as chief executive and in our collective quests to ensure peace and development of the metropolis.
My sincerest appreciation goes to the President of the Republic whose confidence in me influenced my appointment and would want to assure him and the government that I will work to justify the confidence reposed in me.
I also want to assure the chiefs and people of Tamale that consultations will be the hallmark of my leadership in our collected efforts to ensure peace and development of the metropolis.
