Tamale South: Yakubu Yussif cuts sod for construction of 3-Unit Classroom Block with auxiliary facilities

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Tamale South constituency, Honorable Yakubu Yussif has on Thursday 9th April, 2020 cut sod for the construction of a three unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities at Vitting Ansoariya Primary of the Tamale Metropolis.

This became necessary following the increase in number of student population in the school.

The project is part of the 17 projects under Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Program being implemented by the Northern Development Authority (NDA).

The Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication (IPEP) was initiated by the Ministry of Special Development, and was identified by residents in all constituencies in the area after a needs assessment by the NDA.

The IPEP is a new development approach which aims at providing basic socio-economic infrastructure at the constituency level across the country.

Speaking to the media after the ground-breaking for the project, Hon Yakubu Yussif noted that, the NPP led Nana Addo government is working closely with other developmental agencies to bring development to the good people of the country.

He said the NPP government is committed to ensuring equal distribution of resources and development project to benefit the people of Tamale South without discrimination.

The NPP PC also assured the people of Tamale South constituency that, his outfit is working with NDA and the mayor of Tamale to ensure that the people of Tamale South get their share of development from this government.

“All that I want to assure the people of Tamale South is that, government is not sleeping. Government is working with other appropriate agencies to bring development to the people. I am working together with our quality mayor and NDA, to make sure that the suffering of our people from Tamale South is ameliorated. So, we are doing our best to make sure that whatever we can get in government to bring to our people, we will do it. This is just the beginning of good things to come.  All what I am doing is to make people of Tamale South happy”, he stated.  

He has however called on the people of Vitting community to give their mandate to the ruling NPP and make him their member of parliament come December 7th 2020 to enable him continue his good works in the constituency.

“Development of Vitting community is dear to my heart and so I am appealing to you to give me and party your mandate comes December 7th for more development”, he assured

In his comments, the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) for Tamale metropolis, Iddrisu Musah Superior, commended the NPP pc for putting more effort to ensure development of Tamale South constituency.

Speaking on behalf of the CEO of NDA, the Deputy Director of Cooperate Affairs of NDA Alhaji Mustapha Mubashar stated that the projects are being funded with the one million dollars per constituency promised by the ruling NPP during the 2016 general elections.

He said the NDA intended to execute 17 projects across 15 communities within the Tamale South constituency, adding all the projects are identified by the community members after a need assessment was conducted by the Northern Development Authority in these communities.

The projects includes health centers, constructions of roads, community water systems, bridges, classroom blocks, rural electrification, construction of fens wall among others.

The Deputy Director of Cooperate Affairs noted this innovative approach is designed to bring development closer to the people.

“We are here today through the effort of NPP parliamentary candidate Hon Yakubu Yussif and the aim of NDA together with the Ministry of Special Development through president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Adda, is to change the lives of people and bring development closer to the people”, he stated.

Alhaji Mubashar called on the contractor to ensure quality work and desist from using inferior materials on the project.

 “We will be on you all the time and we will not hesitate to abrogate the contract if you fail to meet the six months timeline”, he warned.

He also called on the traditional authorities of Vitting, to support the contractor to execute the project within the stated time.
