Polling stations executives of NPP to demonstrate against Tamale Mayor tomorrow Wednesday, with a common agenda to get him out of office

Barring any last minute changes, a coalition of polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party within the Tamale South and Central constituencies will stage a demonstration seeking to oust the Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive Officer Iddrisu Musah Superior.

The two constituency executives whose jurisdictions are within the catchment area of the metropolis, have accused the Mayor of neglecting party executives thereby leading to a total breakdown of ties between the government and the party.

Speaking to Diamond News in an interview, Convener of the group Osman Abdul Mumini claimed Musa Superior had failed to project the many success stories of the government within the Metropolis.

He said the lackadaisical attitude of the Tamale chief executive in projecting the works of the government had continually reduced the prospects of the NPP in the Metropolis.

Several allegations including cases of corruption, arrogance, disrespect of party leadership have all been levelled against the Tamale Mayor, Iddrisu Musah Superior since his appointment in 2017.

It will be recalled that, some NPP constituency executives of Tamale Central and Tamale South and some youth groups within the NPP also called on the President to terminate the appointment of Musah Superior in which they cited neglect of party executives.

Meanwhile, diamond News has learnt that the Northern regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Chairman Samba had sent a delegation to intervene and resolved the feud between the two factions. Sources say Chairman Samba had resorted to diplomacy to get the polling station executives to back down on their decision to demonstrate on Wednesday March 3, 2019
