MTN foundation supports GHANASCO with mathematics textbooks

The philanthropic wing of Mobile Telephony Company, MTN foundation, has given a boost to the teaching and learning of mathematics in the country by supplying large quantities of textbooks to six selected senior high schools.

In northern Ghana, Ghana Secondary senior high (GHANASCO) and Salaga Senior High school in the Savanna Region are the beneficiaries.

Making a presentation to the Ghana Senior High school authorities on behalf of MTN Ghana, Branches Regional Manager for MTN, Kwame Aseye-Akude said the gesture from the biggest mobile operator, was not only to give back to society, but to supporting a very important aspect of nurturing brains for national development. Aseye-Akude explains:

Headmistress of GHANASCO, Hajia Amina M. Musa who received the books on behalf of the school, expressed appreciation to MTN for the gesture saying; ‘the arrival of the textbooks were timely as it coincided with the launch of the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations.”

She said the school with a current population of over 3400 required such support especially textbooks to cover critical area like mathematics, promising that the books would be put to good use.
