National deputy director of communication for the NPP, Arbar Khomeini has said it will be waste of party resource for the New Patriotic Party to conduct fresh election to fill the position of the deputy Northern regional secretary.
He argued that, the party’s constitution grants the regional executives the power to create portfolios and appoint persons fit to man those positions. They can also appoint a deputy regional secretary, he added.
Following the creation of the new regions and the subsequent directive by the NPP to elect new regional executives on May 4, the deputy Northern regional secretary Haruna Mahama moved to the Savanna region to handle same position.
Arkbr who was speaking on the Diamond FM, told show host MahammedIbn Abdulla that the position of the deputy secretary is of no significant value to the operations of the regional executive committee and therefore do not warrant the waste of party resource on such position.
The National deputy director of communication for the NPP, also claimed that, organizing an election for a single position in the Northern region will portray the party as rich whiles in government. Arbar Khomeini who is also an aide to the Vice President Dr. MahammudBawumia again revealed that, the Dr. Bawumia April 3 town hall meeting is expected to touch on strategies to arrest the Ghana cedi, plans to better handle the Ghanaian economy on the exit of the IMF
