Gushegu MP hands over tractors to his constituents

The Member of Parliament for Gushegu Constituency, Hassan Tampuli, over the weekend handed over five brand new tractors and its accessories to support farmers in the Gushegu Municipality.

According to him the presentation of the tractors formed part of efforts to establish an Agricultural mechanization Centre that would boost farming as a business in the area.

The Gushegu Law maker who doubles as Deputy Minister for Transport, also said it was in fulfillment of promises he made to the Gushegu constituents during the 2020 campaign period.

He opined that about 96% of people in Gushegu Municipality are farmers, hence it is important to improve the sector and make it attractive for others to join.

 “I inaugurated 5 new tractors to support farmers in the Gushegu Municipality. This is phase one of three, as we continue to give hope to our population, over 96% of whom are farmers. This is in partial fulfillment of my covenant with the good people of Gushegu, to establish an Agric mechanisation center” he stated.

Hassan Tampuli stated that he is working closely with other Agricultural agencies globally to provide more agric equipment and farm inputs, to bettering the lives of farmers of the Gushegu Municipality.

The Chief of Gushegu Traditional Area, Naa Abdulai Shitobu and other opinion leaders who inspected the machines couldn’t hide their happiness and commended the MP for the gesture saying “the donation was timely since it will go a long way to impact the lives of farmers in the area.
