Deputy Energy Minister, Dr Amin Anta, connects more communities in Karaga to the national grid.

The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary candidate for Karaga Constituency in the Northern Region, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam Anta has extended electricity to 7 communities in the constituency.

The supply of electricity to the communities which was made possible through the able facilitation of the NPP parliamentary candidate who doubles as Deputy Minister of Energy formed part of his efforts towards ensuring that all communities within the constituency are connected on the national grid.

The Communities that benefited from the rural electrification projects in the Karaga District include Gogu, Kpobo, Kunang, Shebo, Gunaayili, Namburugu, and Zogu .

Street lights were installed in all these communities whilts about five thousand LED bulbs were also distributed to them. The chiefs of these communities also received 42 Nasco LED TV sets from the NPP parliamentary candidate.

According to Dr Amin Anta, this was in fulfillment of one of his promises made to residents of the communities during the parliamentary primaries. He said he has put measures in place to connect additional 34 communities to the national grid within the Karaga district.

Addressing the chiefs and people of these areas at separate durbars, the Deputy Energy Minister in charge of petroleum assured the people of Karaga, most especially the women that he has put in measures to construct mechanized bore-holes across the constituency to provide portable water for the people.

 “ I will construct mechanized bore-holes in each community in this constituency now that we have lights in every community.  So the engineers would soon visit your communities to inspect where we can construct these mechanized boreholes. Because my mothers are suffering too much during dry season and so I want to stop this suffering”, he stated  

He assured teachers in Karaga that, he will implement a one-teacher one-laptop computer policy in the area when voted into Parliament by distributing laptop computers to over 600 teachers in the Karaga District to improve the teaching of ICT in the district.

Dr Amin Anta stated that, the NPP government is doing everything possible for Ghanaians to enjoy good standard of living. He said extending electricity to the communities will go a long way to improve academic performance and socio-economics activities in the communities.

He has therefore called on the beneficiary communities to remember him during the 2020 general elections by voting massively for him and NPP in the constituency .”I am not like others, I am here to transform Karaga constituency. I shall make sure each and everyone benefits for voting for me and Nana Akufo Addo”. He said.

For his part, the Chief Director of the Ministry of Energy, Chris Anaglo, revealed that the objective of the ministry is to ensure that every community in the country will be connected to the national grid before the 2020 general elections.

He said the ministry is rolling out series of projects to provide electricity to Ghanaians, which Karaga District is a beneficiary of the project. He has therefore called on the beneficiary communities to form a local taskforce to manage the street lights on behalf of the VRA

The chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities who could not hide their happiness thanked the NPP candidate for the gesture and assured him of their massive support during the 2020 general elections.
