Coronavirus fight: West Blue CEO donates PPEs to Tamale Teaching Hospital

The Chief Executive Officer of West Blue, Valentina Mintah has on Wednesday 8th April 2020, voluntarily donated 3,500 packs of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the Tamale Teaching Hospital to support frontline workers to fight the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the region.

The items include 700 N95 face mask, 700 gloves, 700 head caps, 700 surgical face masks, and 700 goggles.

Speaking at the donation ceremony at the premises of the hospital, the CEO of West Blue Valentina Mintah stated that the donation is a personal initiative to support the hospital since individual donation to the hospital is not forth coming.

He noted that the facility play a key role in the fight against the deadly disease in the region. Therefore, it is important to equipped them with these protective items to enhance their safety to enable them continue discharging their duties in the fight against the deadly COVID – 19 in the region.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the facility, the Medical Director of TTH Dr Adam Abass, lauded the West Blue CEO gesture saying “this has come at a time we needed the items the most”.

He noted that the items would help health workers to protect themselves against the pandemic.

 “This has come at a very crucial time”, he stated.

He appealed to other corporate organizations and other benevolent organizations to support the health facilities with more protective equipment to aid their work.
