SELLAS TETTEH APPOINTED COACH OF TAMALE CITY FC

Former national under 20 coach, Sellas Tetteh has been appointed coach of Tamale based Division One League side Tamale City FC. Sellas Tetteh signed a one year deal with the club after agreeing personal terms with his new employers.

Sellas Tetteh is a direct replacement for Portuguese trainer Manual Zaccharias who was being lined up by the team that was recently acquired by former bank of Ghana governor Dr. Issahak Abdul Nasir.

The affable coach was introduced to the team’s players and supporters at a short ceremony at the team’s training at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Monday.

Sellas Tetteh is remembered for his exploits with Ghana’s national under 20 team, the black satellites who he guided to the FIFA World Under 20 Cup in Egypt back in 2008. Till date, it still remains the only African winners at that level.

Sellas Tetteh will have a huge task of guiding the former Guan United to the elite of Ghana football.

Sellas Tetteh spoke at his introduction ceremony and said he was “feeling at home.”

Sellas Tetteh (aka Bobo) is a former footballer and a professional player. He was also coach for Sierra Leone and Rwanda national teams. He started his coaching career at Ghana premier league side Liberty Professionals.

Asked about his target with the team saying he hopes to go far with them, “Insha Allah, Masha Allah, Kun Fa Ya kuun”.

Sellas Tetteh was born on 12th December, 1956 in Adabraka, Accra. He lost his wife, Evelyn Tetteh back in January, 2017.
