NPP serial callers “roast” Kumbungu DCE for “running away” during a Diamond FM interview

Some serial callers of the ruling New Patriotic Party NPP in the Northern Region, have lashed out at the District Chief Executive for Kumbungu, Abdul Salam Abdul Fatawu for rudely dropping the call during a live interview on Diamond FM’s Siasa Saha show.

The Kumbungu DCE, was responding to some concerns on the Siasa Saha political talk show, regarding a recent demonstration by some residents of Dallung but dropped the called in the middle of the interview after failing to respond to questions posed by the host.

Abdul Salam Abdul Fatawu had claimed that members of the Dallung community had taken over the collection of road levies on the Dallung road, hence he was not perturbed about the two-weeks ultimatum issued by the residents.

It would be recalled that the Residents of Dallung in the Kumbungu District of the Northern Region on November 21, 2021 staged a protest to demand the completion of the only major road leading to the community.

The residents, in their petition gave government a two-week ultimatum to get the contractor to return to the site or they will be forced to block the road.

Diamond 93.7 FM then sort to get a response from the District Assembly through the DCE during the interview but Abdul Salam Abdul Fatawu only said the contractor had not been picking his phone calls and begun to evade questions from the host of the program and finally dropped the call.

The serial callers who were listening and later called into the program described the behavior of the DCE as unfortunate that must be condemned.

They expressed worry that, the behavior of Kumbungu DCE, had the tendency of destroying the fortunes of the party within the Kumbungu constituency and the region at large.

“The behavior of the DCE to me is unfortunate, this is his second time of misbehaving on this same platform, when they do this, it gives us, the communicators problem, to defend the party on airwaves”, one of the callers lamented.

“The completion of the Dallung road will be a great achievement for him and the party, the DCE instead of pleading with the people rather spoke rudely, this is not the best for our party, how can we break the 8 with this attitude from government appointee”, another caller questioned.

“I am surprise about the action of our DCE, why will he get angry and even drop the call. A politician of his caliber should know better and have patience at all times, you behave this way and want people to give you their mandate”.

Works on the 10-kilometer Dallung road has stalled for the past years after it was awarded on contract in 2016.
