A whole community in Yabogu, a Konkomba farming community of the Gushegu Municipality in the Northern Region have converted to Islam.
The inhabitants according to the ASSALAM ORGANIZATION numbering over 400 residents embraced Islam over the weekend.
They learned about Islam thanks to the efforts of the ASSALAM ORGANIZATION.
The ASSALAM ORGANIZATION is an Islamic propagation organization that is also active in helping those in need, building mosques, Arabic schools, construction of boreholes among others.
The Director of the organization, Sheikh Mohammed Al-Habib Daud, revealed that ASSALAM ORGANIZATION through a support from a Saudi philanthropist has put measures in place to construct a mosque, Islamic basic school, mechanize Borehole, and Imams Bungalow in the community to enhance the practice of Islamic religion in the area.
He said all the necessary materials have since arrived at the community for the project to kick start.
“We want the children in the community to learn the Islamic religion, hence the decision to construct a three-unit Islamic basic school in the community”, he said.
Sheikh Al-Habib noted that his organization through their sponsors had over the weekend killed a number of 15 rams and distributed the carcass among the newly converted Muslims to welcome them to the Islamic religion. “This is to show them love,” he emphasized.
The community members of Yabogu until embracing Islam were devoted idol worshipers.
