Addressing the media after the march, the Public Relations Officer of the Zaawiyyatul Allahu Nuru Muhammad, Imoro Abdul Rahim, advised the Muslims youth in the region to abstain from alcohol and illicit drugs intake. He also encourage them to desist from purchasing beverage drinks from online.
Imoro Abdul Rahim, while explaining the significance of Ramadan, urged the youth to abstain from alcohol and other hard substances during and after the holy month.
“Ramadan is a sacred month in Islam, observed by Muslims worldwide through fasting, prayer, and reflection. However, in recent times, we have observed a concerning trend within our community regarding the consumption of drinks containing alcohol during this holy month”.
“This trend goes against the teachings and principles of Islam, and it is our duty to address this issue and raise awareness among our fellow Muslims”, hence the march.
He thus call on Muslim ummah to always check the percentage of any beverage drinks they purchase at the market.
