Promoting Actions to Address Vulnerabilities in Elections (PAVE) in Northern Ghana project has been launched at the Pastoral Center in Tamale. Organized by the Centre for Social Development Reform (CSD REFORM) and funded by the Coastal States Stability Mechanism (CSSM), the project aims to address vulnerabilities in elections in Northern Ghana.

Mr. David Y. Issah, Executive Director of CSD REFORM, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the importance of promoting peaceful and credible elections in Ghana. He highlighted the need for collective efforts to address vulnerabilities in the electoral process, ensuring that the rights of all citizens are protected.

“To achieve this project goal, we are aspiring towards and intermediary objective of – to increase civic awareness among minority ethnic groups and excluded groups for inclusive electoral outcomes” . He further stated 

The PAVE project is designed to promote electoral integrity, transparency, and accountability in Northern Ghana. It seeks to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders, including the Electoral Commission, political parties, and civil society organizations, to address electoral vulnerabilities.

The launch event brought together stakeholders from various sectors, including government officials, traditional leaders, and representatives from civil society organizations. Participants engaged in discussions on the project’s objectives, expected outcomes, and the role of stakeholders in promoting electoral integrity in Northern Ghana.

With the PAVE project, CSD REFORM and its partners aim to contribute to the consolidation of democracy in Ghana, promoting peaceful and credible elections that reflect the will of the people.
