Karaga: Amin Anta to Connect 24 Communities on to the National Grid
Member of Parliament for Karaga and Deputy Energy Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam Anta, has earmarked additional 24 communities within his constituency to be connected to the national grid, diamondfmonline.com has gathered.
The beneficiary communities include, Nyong Yapala, Nyingali Sugri , Gumo, Blalugli, Kasheli, Natigu, Kutigu, Tindang, Namborigu, Gbinjaga, Zinyee, Nanyuuni , Pugbung, New Namang, Tijing, Salkpaa among others.
The move forms part of the Minister’s efforts towards ensuring Karaga district attain a 100% electricity coverage in the Northern Region.
However, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Karaga District, Iddrisu Mohammed Saani on behalf of the MP, led the Engineer of Yasana Ent. Ltd to engage opinion leaders of the beneficiary communities.
The extension of electricity to the communities were in fulfillment of the MPs campaign promise. The member of parliament for Karaga constituency during the last general elections promised to hook up all communities within Karaga constituency on to the national grid.
The Karaga legislature, had so far facilitated and connected over 48 communities to the national grid in less than two (2) years.
Meanwhile, the communities, chiefs and people of the beneficiary communities during the interaction with the Karaga DCE, expressed gratitude to the MP, for fulfilling a campaign promise and assured him of their continued support.
