I am from Kumbungu – NDC’s PC insists!

The Parliamentary Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Kumbungu constituency, Dr Hamza Adam has descended heavily on the Convention Peoples Party’s (CPP’s) aspiring parliamentary candidate for the same constituency, for peddling falsehood about him.

The CPP’s former National Youth Organizer Nabila Basiru who is vying for the Kumbungu seat too, in a live radio discussion on Diamond FM alleged that the NDC’s PC isn’t a true indigene of Kumbungu. He said he is rather from Kulaa, a farming community in the Saganarigu Municipality.

He alleged that Dr. Hamza Adam had never voted in the constituency and only transferred his vote from Kulaa to Kumbungu to advance his interest in the NDC’s primaries.

However, Dr Hamza Adam, the NDC’s PC said the CPP aspiring parliamentary candidate is only seeking attention from the electorates and needed to deploy this falsehood against him to gain sympathy from the CPP delegates in the constituency. He urged the Kumbungu constituents to disregard the claims.

“I am not from Kulaa, I am a true citizen of Kumbungu, it is very sad for people to take politics to this dimension. He underestimated the intelligence of the people of this constituency, but I am very confident that the people of Kumbungu are much smarter than he thinks. Any attempt to put woods into their eyes will not work especially his own party people because they don’t trust his credibility”. More so Nabila is not my main contender, the NPP pc is my main contender but not him”, he said.

Commenting on the issue of vote transfer, Dr Hamza said it was indeed true that he transferred his vote from Tamale to Kumbungu in 2012 but not 2019.

Dr Hamza Adam indicated that he is poised to retain the Kumbungu seat for the NDC come December 7.
