Friends of Atta Issah, have pledged to finance the filing and the nomination fees of Alhaji Atta Issah, who is seeking to be a parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Saganarigu Constituency.
The group made the pledge after picking the nomination forms through the NDC portal on Wednesday February 22, 2023.
According to the group, they decided to support Alhaji Atta Issah because they think that, he is the only one who can transform and develop the Sagnarigu constituency. “We would pay in full the nomination and filing fees on behalf of Attah Issah”, they said.
Coordinator of the group Awal Memuna Wunnam, explained further that, “he is not yet our MP, but he has proven to us that, if we give him our mandate, Sagnarigu constituency will be where it is supposed to be. Just look around the constituency. I am from Sagnarigu, and it is so sad that, we have so many issues in this constituency, and we have no one to run to. I am not saying the current MP is not doing his job, but we need more development and Atta Issah is someone who has proven to us that he can do the job for us”.
“As friends of Attah Issah, we believe in his vision and personality. He is a man of integrity and humility who stand tall among his peers. He stands for unity and development, and brings hope particularly to the youth for the good of the people of Sagnarigu”, she added.
One he will “since yesterday, we haven’t had interaction or heard that, Alhaji Mumin have picked the forms. He’s been quiet. We identified him as a savior of the youth of NPP in the Northern Region. So, we had sleepless night that, the one we have so much confident for, hasn’t picked the forms yet. And so, it became important that the youth wing of the party has decided to pick the forms on his behalf, and also mobilize an amount of Gh¢ 5,000 to enable him submit the forms on Tuesday.
Sule Abdulai indicated that, the incumbent NPP Northern Regional Youth Organizer, ‘Ghana’ Alhassan, has for the past four years failed the youth of the party hence, their decision to support Alhaji Mumin Salifu C.O.P.
Alhaji Attah Issah is a Businessman and a leading contender of the upcoming Sagnarigu constituency parliamentary primaries, and he’s hoping to unseat the incumbent Sagnarigu ‘proverb’ speaking MP Honorable A.B.A Fuseini, whom they accused of performing abysmal.
The National Democratic Party (NDC) on February 22, 2023, opened nominations for aspirants interested in contesting the parliamentary and the flagbearers positions.
The party is expected to hold its flagbearer and parliamentary primaries on Saturday May 6, 2023.
According to the timeline released by the party at its functional national executives committee (NEC) meeting, submission and filing of nomination forms would take place from Monday March 20, 2023, to Wednesday March 22, 2023.
