Covid-19: Nurse at Tamale Teaching Hospital TTH Grabbed For Flouting Restrictions Order

The suspect Muniru Mohammed Saani, 30 years old, and a nurse at the Tamale Teaching Hospital has been arrested.

Superintendent Otuo Acheampong, Crime Officer of the Northern Regional Police Command, who announced the arrest to diamondfmonline.com in Tamale, said the suspect organized an outdooring and christening ceremony of his one week old daughter at Kukuo a suburb of Tamale Metropolis.

Superintendent Acheampong said on May 13th, at about 1100 hours, information was received that outdooring ceremony was underway at Kukuo, a suburb of Tamale.

He said “two patrol teams responded and arrested the suspect for blatant disregard to the Executive Instruments against public gatherings and social distancing.”

He said the suspect has been cautioned, charged and released on bail, and to appear before the Circuit Court in Tamale on May 14th 2020.

It will be recalled that the President, under the Imposition of Restrictions Act, has banned public gatherings of more than 25 people and that social distancing should be observed for such gatherings of not more than 25 people.
