Community members of Bagurugu and Tamalgu of the Karaga District in the Northern Region has commended the Member of Parliament for the area, Dr Mohammed Amin Adam Anta for providing access to telephone network in the area.
According to them the commissioning of control tower in the area will go a long to improved mobile telecommunication network within the district.
Some of the community members told diamondfmonline.com the project has come at the right time since they had suffered for decades with poor mobile network in the area, “we never enjoyed holding mobile phones because of bad network”.
Mohammed Abdulai a resident at Bagurugu narrating his experience said, “sometimes for a whole week, we cannot make or receive calls due to the poor network”.
He said often such development affects his trading business because “my clients come from Tamale and Savelegu to buy my farm produce on commercial basis to also sell at the various markets and because of the bad network sometimes when they are trying to call me for supplies is a problem”.
“So, we are happy that the MP and his partners commissioned this project, it will enable us to reach out to our clients and our relatives, we are indebted to him for what he has been doing for us”, he indicated.
Dr Mohammed Amin Adam Anta who doubles as a Deputy Energy Minister in collaboration with the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), on Saturday October 23, 2021 commissioned rural telephone projects in Bagurugu and Tamalgu.
The MP indicated that his outfit has been able to connect 8 communities to the telecoms network; the beneficiary’s communities include Bagurugu, Tamalgu, Maane, Kopkelga, Napoliga, Bagli, Nambrugu and Jankpihi.
“The people in these communities can now make and receive telephone calls as well as use data services across all the telephone network service providers in the country”, he said.
