Traditional Authorities in Tamale implore the youth to stick to peace during the electioneering period

The Chief Linguist at the Gukpe Naa palace, Alhaji Zakaria Alhassan, has sent a word of caution to the youth of Tamale to desist from any form of political violence in the upcoming election in December.

Speaking on behalf of Gukpe Naa, Alhaji Alhassan Abdallah at his palace on Thursday, he said politics is not about war, but an opportunity to jaw –jaw for development.

It is therefore necessary to come together as one people and work towards developing the region and the country as a whole.

 Alhaji Zakariya speaking on behalf of Gukpegu Naa Alhassan Abduali said “we all must embrace who ever emerge victorious in the elections to ensure peace and harmony for better development in the country.

In a related development, Issah Haruna who speaks on behalf of Tamale Dakpema, Naa Fuseini Bawa has also cautioned the general public most especially the youth to preach peace before, during and after the elections.

He advised the youth to disassociate themselves from violence or any acts that will bring chaos in the region during the electioneering period. The Dakpema’s spokesman further added that the chiefs are committed to ensuring peace during the period, hence it is incumbent on the subjects to also embrace peace for the development of the region.
