Pro-NPP group in the Northern Region celebrates President Akuffo Addo for the milestone of attaining Diamond Jubilee

A pro NPP youth group in the Northern region over the weekend heralded president Nana Akuffo Addo’s 75th birthday celebration with a health walk in the Tamale metropolis.

The group walked through some principal streets of Tamale, holding placards with inscriptions, “We are grateful for Dagbon Peace” “We shall forever be indebted to you Nana”, and “Dagbon Youth shall be loyal to you” among others.

The Sagnarigu Municipal Chief Executive, Mariam Iddrisu who participated in the event on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed commended the group for organizing such initiative to celebrate the birthday of the president.

She said the President’s contribution towards restoring peace in the Dagbon cannot be underestimated and therefore, it was right for the youth to show their gratitude for his commitment.

The Sagnarigu MCE commended the president for the historic 62nd National Independence Day celebration in Tamale. She said although people in the region might not see the immediate benefits of this historic event, this has lot of potentials for development in the region in the future.

On his part, the convener of the group, Alhassan Mubarak, speaking to Diamond News on behalf of the group, thanked President Nana Akufo Addo for his efforts towards restoring peace and development of northern region.

He also prayed for long life and good health for him and assured that the youth in the northern region, especially Dagbon Youth will rally their support behind him and vote massively for him during the 2020 general elections
