Political communicators asked to desist from disrespecting the Overlord of Dagbon

The Northern Regional NADMO Director, Alhaji Hindu has called political and party commentators of the Northern Region to desist from disrespecting the authority of the Overlord of Dagbon and his elders through social media platforms.

According to the former Northern Regional Organizer of NPP, acts of politicians and party commentators dragging the name of the overlord of Dagbon on social media is unacceptable and needed to be discouraged.

He indicated that politicians mostly from the North are now trying to take Ya–Naa and his sub chiefs for granted, because any time they donate to their palaces they post these on social media for the world to see.

Alhaji Hindu who is unhappy about the development, described the attitude of the politicians and their commentators as disrespectful to the Yaa-Na, saying “it is only in Dagbon traditional area that politicians will donate small items to chiefs and make it public by posting pictures of the chief and the items on social media. Politicians should stop ridiculing our king, the kingdom is not a small kingdom,” he insisted.

“It has now become a norm for politicians particularly; when they support the Gbewaa palace or any other, for their communicators to flood social media platforms with what transpired.” he lamented.

Expressing his displeasure on the trend, on Diamond FM, the Northern Regional NADMO Director warned that they as leaders will come after anybody who drags the Yaa- Naa and his sub-chiefs on social media platforms for negativity. He revealed that plans were far advanced to have a committee that would sanction persons that disrespected the Gbewaa Palace which is the throne of the overlord of Dagbon.

“I am sending a warning to all politicians both NPP and NDC to stop disrespecting the overlord of Dagbon. Politicians are trying to take Yaa-Naa for granted, because anytime they donate small things to him, they will put it on air for everybody to see. We have Nayiri and Yagbonwura, have you ever heard anything they have donated to these people and you will hear it on air, but why Dagbon?” he questioned.

We will not take it anymore; very soon we will setup a committee to monitor and sanction this attitude, Alhaji Hindu stated.
