NWL: Northern Ladies cut Ashtown Ladies to size

Northern Ladies recorded their first victory of the season in Match Day 3 of the National Women’s League, with an emphatic 6-0 win over Ashtown Ladies at the Aliu Mahama sports stadium on Friday.

Jafar Rahama opened the floodgates when she tapped in beautifully her second goal of the season in the 10minute.

Torkdzor Federica doubled the lead for the home side after she was released by Jafar Rahama with a fine finish.

Victoria Salifu scores her debut goal of the season when she headed into the net from a Jafar Rahama cross few minutes before halftime.

When everyone thought the goals were all but over in the first half, the former Dahinsheli Ladies attacker scored her brace by finding the bottom right corner of the net.

Torkudzor Federica makes it 5_0 when she hit the top corner for her second in the 88th minute.

Ashtown Ladies striker Grace Acheampong came close to getting a consolation with a one on one situation in the 80th minute, but her shot was saved by Northern Ladies goalkeeper Barikisu Issahaku.

Hikima Zuberu completed the rout when she scored her debut goal for the home side in the 90th minute to give Northern Ladies their first three points of the season.

Jafar Rahama won the NASCO Woman of the Match award for the second consecutive time at home.

Northern Ladies will travel to Kumasi to play Fabulous Ladies in their next match.
