NPP outdoors its Campaign Team for Tamale South

The 2020 New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) parliamentary candidate for Tamale South Constituency, Yakubu Yussif has maintained that he is going to win the seat from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him the Nana Akuffo Addo administration has implemented series of developmental projects in the area, hence he is convinced of causing a major political upset in the constituency, which has been loyal to the NDC since the Tamale South Constituency got split from the Gukpegu/Sabonjida Constituency in 2004.

Yakubu Yussif who is programs manager at the Ministry of Business Development, made the remarks after the inauguration of the 2020 campaign team for the Tamale South Constituency. The ceremony brought together hundreds of party supporters in the constituency with the enthusiasm of capturing the seat for the party come December 7.

He said the incumbent NDC MP, Haruna Iddrisu who doubles as Minority Leader in parliament had failed the constituents thereby leaving many of the constituents disgruntled and yearning for change.

Our agenda is to bring development to the constituency. The agenda is to win power as NPP in Tamale South. Comparing Tamale South to other constituencies in the Region, Tamale South is far behind in terms of development. Considering the position and stature of the current MP, you will definitely know that our constituency is lacking behind,” he stated.

The NPP PC also encouraged party members to join the “door-to-door” campaign to ensure their chances of snatching the seat from the NDC, instead of leaving it for the campaign team.

He also encouraged NPP members in Tamale South to eschew their differences and rally behind the parliamentary candidate and the constituency executives to deliver the seat for the NPP.
