journalists in tamale schooled on gender responsive budgeting

The Ghana Trade and Livelihood Coalition, has organized a day’s workshop on gender responsive budgeting for some selected media practitioners in the Northern Region.

The training was meant to empower the journalist to hold Government accountable in provisions of budget allocation to Agricultural sector.

Speaking to Diamond News after the training, the program coordinator of Ghana trade and livelihood coalition, IBRAHIM AKALBILA , stated that the media play key roles in national development hence the training to enable the media assess the yet to be read national budget.

He said Ghana though addressing poverty yet has an increasing number of inequality issues where a larger population has been left behind.

The program coordinator also indicted that GTLC findings also indicate a lack of gender responsiveness in the agricultural sector in the country.
