Farouk Aliu Mahama donates to Muslims community in Yendi

An aspiring parliamentary candidate for the Yendi constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama has presented 600 Bags of Rice to the Muslim Community in Yendi

The donation which is under the auspices of Partnership for Poverty Reduction (PPR), a non-profit making organisation established by the son of the first Muslim Vice president of Ghana, is aimed at resourcing the needy Muslims in the area ahead of the Eid alAdha festivities.

Alhaji Farouk, after presenting the items to the beneficiaries in Yendi, called on Muslims to remain committed to the cause of Islam by showing much concern to each other. Alhaji Farouk also pledged to continue assisting the people of the constituency in diverse ways to eradicate poverty in the area.

He commended the Muslims in Yendi for upholding peace and living in harmony with the indigenes over the years and called on them to continue to pray for peace in the area and the country at large.

However the beneficiary Muslims in Yendi who couldn’t hide their happiness thanked Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama for the gesture.

It will be recalled that Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama earlier this year also donated farm inputs to individual farmers and groups within the Yendi Municipality.

Late last year, several women received skills training and start-up capital from Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama to commence their respective businesses in the area.
