Another nightmare for Pearlpia Ladies as they battle city rivals Northern Ladies in a local derby?

Pearlpia Ladies will be in action this weekend against their arch rivals Northern Ladies in a crucial encounter after both clubs picked a point each in their various matches during the midweek games in the Women’s Normalization Competition.

Pearlpia Ladies will have a chance of ending the first round on a good note and of course end the dominance of their city rivals over them, if they win on Saturday at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports stadium.

Pealrpia Ladies are at par with Ampem Darkoa at the top of Group B with 4 points after both clubs won their first matches and shared the spoils in midweek at Techiman.

Northern Ladies who performed abysmally in their opening two matches of the competition after losing to Ampem Darkoa and drawing 2-2 against Prisons Ladies in Tamale, will be hoping to grab their first 3 points of the competition, if they should continue their dominance over Pearlpia Ladies this weekend.

Coach Mohammed Basiru who attributed his Northern Ladies 2-2 draw against Prisons ladies to “lack of technical discipline on the part of my players”, expects his side to up their game when they clash with their bitter rivals.

The last time both sides met was in the BANUMA TOP 4 competition which Northern Ladies won 2-0 by kind courtesy Black Maidens captain Mukarama Abdulai’s brace, who many soccer loving fans will want to watch this weekend.

Pearlpia Ladies experienced attacker and former Black Queens captain Safia Abdul Rahaman who missed their midweek trip to Techiman alongside their left back Bintu Alhassan popularly known as “Gbini”, are all hoping to bounce back in coach Baba Nuhu Mallam’s set up.

Now, are we going to see Northern Ladies continue their dominance over Pearlpia Ladies or it is time for Pearlpia to show that they are the owners of the city?
