ABDULAI ALHASSAN IS NEXT TO RESIGN AFTER KWESI NYANTAKYI

Northern Regional Football Association chairman, Abdulai Alhassan(aka Abu Imoro) has resigned from his position. Abdulai Alhassan is the next to resign after Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi, who earlier put down his tools on Friday.

Abdulai Alhassan is regarded as the accomplice number one of Kwesi Nyantakyi in the Anas video which was premiered on Wednesday.

In the said video, Abdulai Alhassan is seen as the one who led the supposed ‘investors’ to Kwesi Nyantakyi.

At a short news conference at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Saturday, Abdulai Alhassan said, he “after a careful reflection of my role and action in the Anas Aremeyaw Anas expose, I have decided to resign as the chairman of the Northern Regional Football Association and an executive committee member of the Ghana Football Association.”

Mr. Alhassan, was shown in the #Number12 documentary aiding Mr Nyantakyi to collect $65,000 from supposed investors who were undercover journalists.

He is the one who introduced the men he thought were investors [undercover journalists] to Mr Nyantakyi.

Even through Mr Nyantakyi had proposed to the supposed investors to pay $12million to be used to influence President Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and some ministers, Abu in a later conversation with Nyantakyi alone in a vehicle with a driver suggested they should increase the amount to $15million so the two of them can also have their cut of US$4million.

Mr Nyantakyi had proposed in the documentary that out of the $12million, it was to be shared as $5million to President Akufo-Addo, $3million to the Vice President and the rest shared for the Transport Minister, Deputy Roads and Highways Minister, Anthony Karbo, Nyantakyi and Abu.

But when they sat in their vehicle, Abu suggested the $12million should be increased to $15million.

Mr. Alhassan used the occasion to render his unqualified apology to his family, friends and those who elected him to serve and the country as a whole.

At the press conference, Mr. Abdulai Alhassan was flanked by his deputy, Mr. Kessie Musah Ibrahim, expressed the hope that Ghana football will get on its feet once again.
