The Paramount Chief of the Saboba Traditional Area, Ubor Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV, has called on the chiefs and opinion leaders within the Zogbei enclave to take decisive steps to initiate dialogue between the feuding factions.

He said open communication and understanding are key to achieving lasting peace in these communities.

His comments comes on the backdrop of clashes, which took place on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, over a parcel of land, which led to the loss of precious lives.

In a statement signed by the chief said the feuding factions must not view each other as enemies, instead unite to combat poverty and underdevelopment.

He called on the youth to refrain from making inflammatory comments that have the potential to escalate the situation in the area.

He has also called on all and sundry to refrain from posting falsehoods and unverified information on social media, because these actions can only worsen the conflict.

The paramount chief further called on the feuding factions to treat the clash as localised and isolated issue .

Ubor Bowan John Mateer Sakojim IV, implore the security detailed to restore peace to act with firmness and fairness towards all individuals involved.

He said a thorough investigation must be conducted to bring the perpetrators of these heinous crimes to justice.

The paramount chief said the region requires a peaceful and stable environment to foster develop.
