The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sagnarigu Mr. Mohammed Yakubu Ahmed has donated generously towards this year’s Diamond Damba Festival (DDF) activities.
The donation which was done on Friday 25th August, 2023 came in the wake of the launch of this year’s edition of the DDF on Saturday 26th August, 2023 at the Aisha Homes in Tamale. The event is strictly by invitation.
The donation had items such as 20 packs of bottled mineral water, 10 crates of Coca Cola drinks plus an undisclosed amount of money.
Diamond Damba Festival is an initiative of Diamond FM which has been running for the past 6 years to help leave a positive impact of the Damba celebrations with the people in our communities. As a result, activities including blood donation exercise, donation of food items and other consumables to Tears of Widows and Orphans Foundation, Free NHIS registration and renewal for the vulnerable as well as fun games for rival tribes in Northern Ghana and the major political parties are organized annually to commemorate the Damba Festival.
This year’s edition will be in October and promises to be bigger and better.
The MCE’s donation was done on his behalf by his special aide Fuseini Abdul Gafaru Ridwan at the premises of Diamond FM at Nkrumah Volini at the Industrial Area in Tamale.
The items were received by chairman of the DDF Planning Committee Abdulai Abdul Majeed and secretary Abdulai Abdul Gafaru. They thanked the MCE’s entourage on behalf of Diamond FM and used the opportunity to urge other individuals and corporate bodies to emulate his gesture
