DAGBON FORUM APPEALS TO ALL DAGOMABAS TO ENSURE PEACEFUL FUNERALS FOR LATE KINGS OF DAGBON.

The Dagbon Forum has called on both Abudus and Andanis families to remain resolute and focused on the singular objective of organizing funerals for late kings of Dagbon with pride and harmony,.

This, the forum believes would leave lingering memories on the minds of the present and future generations.

The Asantehene led mediation committee, on Friday 16th November 2018, finalized its road map for the restoration of peace in Dagbon.

The three eminent Kings resolved that the Abudu Royal family should perform the funeral of the late Yaa Naa Mahamadu Abdulai, beginning Decembers 14 to 28, 2018 to be followed by the funeral of the late Yaa Naa Yakubu Andani II, from January 4 to 18th 2019.

The two funerals are to be performed in the old Gbewaa palace in Yendi, the traditional capital of the Dagombas.

Addressing some section media in Tamale, on the breakthrough, the national vice president of the Dagbon forum, Mahama Sintari, said it is important for the two royal families to make the occasions memorable for younger generations of Dagbon to appreciate

He said sons and daughters of Dagbon therefore should remain vigilant against hostile and aggressive tendencies that would only undermine the decision of the three eminent kings.

The vice president of Dagbon forum, further called on the Northern Regional Coordinating Council and MMDCEs within Dagbon jurisdiction to facilitate the promotion of peace and tolerance among people of Dagbon.

Mahama Sintare on behalf of the members of Dagbon forum, commended the three eminent kings and Government for their efforts towards bringing lasting peace to Dagbon.
