Coalition of Constituency Council of Elders of the North thank President for appointing Dr Amin Anta as Finance Minister

The Coalition of the Constituency Council of Elders of the North of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), have expressed gratitude to His Excellency the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu Addo, for appointing Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta as Finance Minister in the country. 

Members of the Coalition at a press briefing on Monday February 26, 2024, indicated, “we gathered here this morning to thank, first of all the Almighty God for the political blessings as well the trials in this part of the country. We also thank His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffu -Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana and the New Patriotic Party administration for seriously involving the North in the government of this country.” 

Chairman of the Coalition Alhaji Tahidu Yahaya, who addressed the media on behalf of his colleagues, stated that, the appointment of Honorable Mohammed Amin Adam Anta as Finance Minister and the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia being the first northerner in the NPP’s political history to become the leader and flagbearer of the party, is indeed no mean feat for the people of Northern Ghana. 

“The Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia being the first Northerner in the NPPs political history to become the leader and flagbearer of this great party. This indeed, is no mean feat for we the people of Northern Ghana”.

He said Hon. Mohammed Amin Adam Anta who is also the member of parliament for Karaga constituency is the first northerner in the political history of Ghana since independence to be appointed as Finance Minister of Ghana. 

“What else can we as northerners say, than to say a very profound thanks to Almighty God and the President”.

“We are assuring the President that the confidence he has reposed in the North is not misplaced, and we are therefore pledging our unflinching support and sustain these noble gentlemen in the prosecution of their duties to justify their inclusion”, he assures.
