‘CID Boss’ harassment of Ofosu Ampofo is witchcraft’ – NDC

The Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has likened the
conduct of the Director-General of Criminal Investigations Department,
Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah in inviting their chairman, to
“witchcraft”.
The party believes the recently promoted CID Boss is being remotely
controlled by the Akufo-Addo government to intimidate the opposition
ahead of the 2020 general elections.
A communications team member of the party, Eric Adjei, made the
assertions on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem programme Thursday, insisting Mr
Ampofo will not honour the invitation.
Mr Ampofo is in fresh trouble as the CID claims suspects under
investigation have named him in the recent cases of kidnappings and fire
outbreaks across the country.
A letter from the CID to Mr Ofosu-Ampofo says some individuals picked
up for interrogation have mentioned the NDC chair as part of a grand
scheme designed to cause fear and panic in the country.
He is expected to report to the CID headquarters Today.
But Eric Adjei said the action of the CID boss smacks of intimidation, harassment and abuse of power.
“Tiwaa is incompetent and does not deserve her office. We will resist any efforts to intimidate us,” he fumed.
