All is set for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency primaries in the Northern region.

The Northern Regional Secretary of the NPP, Sule Salifu who disclosed this to Ghana360news.com on Thursday said all the necessary arrangements have been made, ahead of the elections which are scheduled from Saturday February 24 to Tuesday February 27.

Mr Salifu said even though the Regional Electoral Committee is responsible for organising the elections, he can assure that everything will go as planned.

“I can confidently say that on Saturday, we will have about 23 constituencies going for their primaries and on 25th [Sunday], four will go” he said.

Mr Sule Salifu said despite earlier concerns over the security situations in the Bimbilla and Daboya constituencies, the District Security Committees of the two areas have cleared them to participate in the elections.

“We had some difficulties in Bimbilla and Daboya because of security challenges, with updates from the District Security Committees, we’re very confident that the time is ripe for the elections in these areas” Mr Salifu disclosed.

He said all arrangements including security have been sorted.

“The Police have notified us that the [Police] Headquarters has directed them to the Regional Secretariat for updates and specific venues where the elections will be conducted” he disclosed.

Mr Salifu appealed to all unaccredited persons to stay away from the venues because the party has given directives to the police to deal mercilessly with miscreants.
