N/R: Fridays congregation prayers suspended – Northern Regional chief Imam

The Northern Regional Chief Imam , Alhaji Ahmed Abdul Salam, together with other Imams in the region have suspended Friday congregational prayers for four weeks to complement the government’s measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country.
According to the Chief Imam, the said suspension is in line with government’s ban on all social gatherings including funerals, festivals, all religious activities, conferences and all other events that call for a mass gathering of people.
Alhaji SALAM speaking to the diamondfmonline.com after a short meeting with all sects including the ambariya leaders ,said the daily prayers will be observed at the various Mosques across the region, but the Friday congregational prayers will be put on hold for four weeks
The northern regional chief imam however called on the imams to spread the message to their peers to enable them abide by the directives
Meanwhile the Imam at the masjidul Saalam mosque sheikh Al – Habib Adabiya, speaking to diamondfmonline.com noted that the restriction of public gathering is in accordance with protocols enshrined in the Quran to preserve and ensure healthy lives.
Ghana has recorded seven cases of coronavirus so far.
