Zoomlion holds Thanksgiving Friday with inter-faith service in Tamale

Employees of Zoomlion Ghana Limited in the Northern Region joined their counterparts in other parts of the country for an annual Thanksgiving Friday which is to honor God for his mercies over them as employees and for the Jospong group of companies.

Staff at all levels – Muslims and Christians, took part in the inter-faith thanksgiving at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium where they worshiped and prayed to God for seeing them through yet another year.

This year’sevent was held under the theme:  “Praise the Lord oh my soul -Psalm 103 verse 1,” with a national event taking place in Accra concurrently.

Elder Albert Narh, with the Chaplaincy services of Zoomlion Headquarters, who represented the Executive Chairman of the Jospong Group, Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong, commended the workers for their patience and hard work during periods when the company went through challenges in the past.

Our founder, Dr. Agyepong built the company on the foursquare gospel and our core value is Godliness with waste management being his calling, hence one every second Friday in December, he brings us together to Thank God for intervening in all the challenges,” he stated.

The whole world in 2020 has been on its knees because of Covid-19 and many companies have folded and staff have been retrenched, but to the glory of God, none of our staff has been laid off and salaries have been paid up to date, and so across the country, we are here to appreciate and thank God,” Elder Narh added.

The leader of the Shia Muslim community and also the chief of Zongos in Tamale, Shiekh Abdul-Moomin Dalhu in an exhortation, said “the very foundation of Zoomlion is godly, since cleanliness is part of faith for which I am tasking you [the employees] to work diligently.

Sheikh Dalhu also cautioned that the December 7 elections should not be about violence or bullets, but should be a contest of ideas so that when it is over we can continually live in peace and harmony.

Earlier the General Manager in charge of Zoomlion’s operation in the Northern Region, Peter Dawuni, recounted that the company has been leading in cleaning the MMDAs in the region with a newer task of disinfection against COVID-19 spread in educational as well as, health institutions, markets and offices.
