Basharu Dabali looking through his speech

The concerned Andani youth group, the youth wing of the Andani royal family have vowed to crash any element that seeks to invade the Gbewaa palace, as pressure mounts on government and the custodians to perform customary rites and installation of a new overlord.

According to the group, the family will not be intimidated by any force from the government, which it accused of scheming to forcefully impose a new Yaa Naa, without consent to customary practices and traditions of Dagbon.

Speaking to news men at a press briefing on Monday, Basharu Alhassan Dabali, Secretary of the concerned Andani Youth group argued that, until all outstanding funerals of some chiefs in the kingdom are performed, the quest to get a new Yaa Naa will not materialize.

He warned that the family will be forced to respond with aggression, if an attempt is made by government to invade the Gbewaa palace in performance of the funeral of late Naa Mahamudu Abdulai IV, whom they claimed died a private citizen and as such shouldn’t be recognized as a former Yaa Naa.

They equally issued out a strongly worded caution to some members of the Andani family led by the Yoo Naa of Savelgu whom they described as selfish, to desist from their machinations to occupy the Dagbon skin, since the family will never gran them that wish

The media briefing which was held at the official residence of the overload of Dagbon in Tamale had in attendance some chiefs from the Andani gate, children of the late Yaa Naa and some family members.
