Management of the newly constructed Tolon District Hospital has taken receipt of a GH¢ 60,000.00 donation from the Tolon Member of Parliament.
Hon. Habib Iddrisu made the donation to support in the effective running of the facility.
“Management of the Tolon District Hospital writes to acknowledge the receipt of Sixty Thousand Ghana cedis (GH¢ 60.000.00) donated by you to support in the running of the facility”.
Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in November 2020, commissioned the 60-bed Ultra-Modern Tolon District Hospital but it is yet to begin operations.
In a letter addressed to the Deputy Majority Chief Whip and intercepted by www.diamondfmonline.com, the hospital management said “this is the biggest singular support the hospital has received since its commissioning and subsequent handing over”.
“Management and the entire staff wish to express our sincere gratitude for this noble gesture and will like to assure you that the money will be used for its intended purpose”.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo has recently indicated that the Tolon District Hospital will commence operations in the next few months.
While addressing a durbar of Chiefs and people of Tolon during his two-day tour of the Northern Region in early August, the President said all the necessary consumables and seed capital has been made available and very soon it will be operationalized.
“Tolon Hospital which is part of EUROJET group of hospitals has been completed and very soon it will be operationalized. The seed capital has been budgeted for, the consumables have also now been procured. We are looking at transport and when that is over, the hospital will become operationalized in the coming months and not another year,” he said.
