Vice President Bawumia warns contractors executing on one village one dam projects to avoid delays

Vice president Dr Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia has admonished contractors working on the one village one dam project in the three regions of the North to speed up work before next farming season.

According him the one-village-one-dam policy is only applicable to the three regions of the North, hence government has decided to start with ten dams in each constituency of the north.

Addressing IMAMs, traditional leaders, and Muslim urmah at the just ended 22 annual TAFSIIR organized by BAMBAWIA institute led by sheikh luqman BAMBA, the Vice president statement that, the Nana Addo government decided to turn the north into an agriculture bread basket, therefore it was important to improved Irrigation farming to achieve such agenda.

Dr. Bawumia warned that government will not hesitate to abrogate the contracts should the contractors fail to finish the work before March 2019.

Speaking on the theme propagating Islamic knowledge and promoting peace in the Northern Ghana, the vice president, urged Muslim youth to seriously pursue secular and Islamic education to better their lives.
