Vice President Bawumia Pledges to Initiate Discussions for Mion Fire Service Training School
Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has assured the Regent of Mion and his subjects that he will engage with the leadership of the Ghana National Fire Service upon his return to Accra to discuss the establishment of the Mion Fire Service Training School.
During the Vice President’s visit to the area, the Regent of Mion, in his welcome address, highlighted the importance of the project, which was a cherished dream of his late father, Mion Lana Abdulai Mahamadu. The Regent noted that his late father had allocated substantial parcels of land for the project in Mion.
The Vice President is currently on a campaign tour of the region ahead of the 2024 elections. As part of his visit, he reiterated the government’s commitment to addressing the needs of the Mion constituency.
The Regent also appealed for swift action to commence the Yendi Water Project, which is expected to benefit several communities within the Mion Traditional Area.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the significance of these projects for the development of the region and promised to expedite discussions to ensure their prompt implementation. He acknowledged the late Mion Lana Abdulai Mahamadu’s vision and dedication to improving the lives of the people in the Mion constituency.
